California vs. The World Wine Tasting Event
First off, I want to say thank you to Mr. & Mrs.
Bramley for allowing us to use their house for this
event.  I couldn't have asked for better hosts!
Everything was wonderful.  I would also like to
extend a big thank you to Chris & Alicia Taylor and
Brian & Missy Baker for all their help in pulling off
the event.  Great job everyone!

For this event, we pitted seven wines from
California against seven wines from throughout the
wine producing world.  There were seven different
varietals in our little showdown; Sparkling wine,
Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Noir,
Syrah/Shiraz & Cabernet Sauvignon.  We also had
quite a spread of food to pair along with the
different varietals.  Each guest was asked to
compare the two wines, one California and one
from the World and vote as to which wine they
liked the best.  To make things fair, we tasted these
wines blind in random order.

We had high hopes for our California brethren, but
I'm sorry to say that unfortunately, California went
down in flames this evening!  Here are the results
of our tasting:
