| Here is a list of food presented by Harvey Steiman from the Wine Spectator that makes an ideal match with Champagne and Sparkling Wines with a few suggestions of my own: · Medium bodied grilled fish or fish prepared in light to medium or rich and hearty sauces like swordfish, halibut, or mahi mahi. · Shellfish like lobster or scallops with rich or hearty sauces, shrimp cocktail. · Sushi or sashimi (Big hit here!) · Chicken that has been grilled and marinated, fried, or prepared in light to medium sauces like; a vegetable, white wine, red wine or teriyaki sauce. · Chicken stir-fry or an Asian-inspired duck. · Turkey with light, medium or heavy sauces. · Ham or spicy sausage. · Light oil-based, white cream, tomato-based, cream based, pesto, puttanesca, alfredo, primavera sauce pasta dishes, vegetable lasagna and risotto, seafood risotto. · Chef, Cobb, pasta or shrimp salad. · Brie or other semi-soft cheeses, Swiss, Gouda and other mild, firm cheeses. · Grilled or stir-fried vegetables. · Bisques and Chowders. · Fruits like strawberries, cherries, bananas, tropical style fruits and melons. · Assorted nuts · Crackers |
