Sir Elliot's Tobacco
was at Sir Elliot's Tobacco on Preston & Frankfort in North Dallas. I
really had no idea what to expect except that there would be people
smoking cigars. I really had a great time and you know, it is a lot like a
wine tasting. Just substitute the word "Cigar" for "wine" in a bunch of
people standing around talking about the cigar they are tasting (or
smoking I should say).
I have never seen so many cigars in my entire life and had no idea that
they came in so many flavors and styles, again, just like wine. Sir Elliot's
carries them all, except of course Cubans. (not legal in the US) They
have an incredible humidor lined wall to wall with various brands of
cigars just begging you to smoke them and they even rent out humidor
boxes for you to store your stash in.
I think one thing that definitely makes Sir Elliot's unique is that they
have a lounge area in the back with a giant big screen TV and a wet bar.
You bring your own beverages of course, but you are welcome to drink a
glass of wine and smoke a newly purchased cigar back there. In the
words of Ina Garten, "How great is that?"
For you coffee lovers, and that would certainly include myself, they have
a great selection of gourmet coffee beans and grinds to take home and if
your heart desires something really exotic, they can even special order
some coffee like the world famous Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee.
