Banfi Vintners Wine Dinner at Zorba's
So once again, our wine club decided to invade the
wonderful and very hospitable home of Zorba's the
Greek Café for some fantastic Greek food, but this
year however, was a little different.
Christi Evans of Banfi Vintners donated all of our
wines and bought us all appetizers to boot!  Thank you
so much Banfi Vintners for the wine!  It was very much
appreciated.  This of course was all facilitated by
Shawn O'Connor from Beverage City.  Shawn helped
to make this event a success by co-ordinating the wines
with Banfi Vintners and by being our Host with the
Most for our tasting.

Banfi Vintners imports wines from the likes of Castello
Banfi in Italy, Concha y Toro in Chile and some
additional wineries in Argentina like Trivento.  On this
evening we got to sample some wines from each of
those wineries and the feedback was very favorable on
them.  What's more, Beverage City was offering us a
huge discount on all of the wines that we had in the
tasting.  One of my personal favorites of the evening,
the Banfi Pinot Grigio called "San Angelo", who's
price has risen over the past few years to just a shade
under Santa Margherita prices, may have been the
biggest bargain of the evening.  Normally it sells for
$20.00, but to our guests on this evening, it was a mere
$13.99.  No'one had to twist my arm to capitalize on
that!  There were other great deals on all of the other
wines too.

It should be mentioned and pointed out that the
reason we have wine dinners like this at Zorba's every
year is not only due to their great Greek food, but for
the fantastic service that they provide.  They are
always more than accommodating and go out of their
way to make us feel special.  Thank you Zorba's and
trust me, you will see us again next year.

And finally, it was great to see everyone, old faces and
new, one more time this year before the holiday season
takes off in full swing.  Everyone seemed to really have
a great time and enjoyed the food and wine.  If I don't
see any of you before hand, let me be the first to wish
everyone a "Happy New Year" and be sure to stay safe
this holiday season!
